About the role

As a Senior Geospatial Data Scientist at Doktar, you will tackle basin‑scale water stress assessments, climate‑risk analytics, and groundwater analysis using satellite and climate datasets. You will turn complex earth observation data into actionable insights that support sustainable agriculture and water‑risk decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain remote‑sensing workflows for water, climate, and agricultural analytics using datasets such as Sentinel, Landsat, MODIS, GRACE, ERA5 and CHIRPS.
• Process and analyse raster and vector geospatial data with Python, building reproducible pipelines and automating analysis.
• Support basin‑scale analyses including evapotranspiration, water balance, drought, groundwater and crop‑water‑stress assessments.
• Collaborate across AI/ML, geospatial and sustainability initiatives to translate environmental signals into practical field insights.
• Prepare visualisations, technical reports and methodology notes for stakeholders.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of experience in geospatial data science, remote sensing or GeoAI, preferably in agriculture, water or climate domains.
• Strong Python programming skills with experience in scientific and geospatial libraries.
• Solid understanding of raster/vector processing, spatial analysis and reproducible workflows.
• Knowledge of hydrology, water balance, evapotranspiration or climate‑risk analytics is highly preferred.

Required skills

• Python
• GeoPandas, Rasterio, Xarray/Rioxarray, GDAL
• Google Earth Engine, QGIS
• Docker, PostGIS (optional)
• Familiarity with cloud processing environments
