Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

iyzico is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join its in‑house legal team. The role will support the company’s fast‑growing payment and e‑commerce operations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and mitigating legal risks. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to provide proactive legal guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate and timely legal advice to relevant teams on a wide range of legal matters.
• Research and assess legal risks related to business decisions and operations.
• Apply effective risk management techniques and give proactive advice on potential legal issues.
• Draft, review, and update company policies, procedures, and standard agreements; participate in contract negotiations.
• Prepare legal opinions for management requests.
• Offer practical legal solutions to internal stakeholder issues.
• Oversee management of litigation matters; represent the company in court hearings, arbitration, and mediation.
• Handle complex legal matters involving multiple stakeholders.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes; contribute to the legal team’s knowledge base.
• Draft legal memoranda in Turkish and English on current legal issues, legislative amendments, and regulatory developments.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Sales, Operations, Finance and other departments to support business objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law.
• Comprehensive knowledge of payment services, payment products, e‑commerce, M&A, commercial contracts, IP, data privacy, and IT law.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a law firm or as in‑house counsel, preferably in financial services.
• Experience in litigation, arbitration and mediation.
• Strong knowledge of corporate law.
