Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Data Centre

About the role

Arup is looking for a Senior Data Centre Mechanical Engineer to join its design-led team in Istanbul. The role plays a key part in designing and delivering data centre solutions, working on a variety of projects with a multidisciplinary team and contributing to Arup's global expertise in data centre design.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of data centre design principles.
• Undertake mechanical design elements for major data centre projects.
• Collaborate with general contractors, other engineers, architects and project management teams.
• Manage the production of drawings.
• Prepare and coordinate mechanical reports and specifications.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of others, working with engineers of other disciplines and project managers.
• Attend meetings and communicate with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the field.
• Extensive experience in data centre design, including medium to large-scale projects.
• Proven ability to design and deliver mechanical engineering solutions for major data centre projects.
• Experience leading teams on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Ability to balance engineering priorities across diverse projects and to build client relationships quickly.
• Fluency in English; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
