Staff Mobile Engineer

About the role

AppNation is seeking a Staff Mobile Engineer to lead the technical direction of its AI‑powered mobile products. The role blends hands‑on development with strategic leadership, collaborating with product managers, engineers, and cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable, high‑performance mobile experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the technical roadmap for mobile applications while staying actively involved in coding.
• Partner with product, backend, QA, and platform teams to design and improve subscription‑based mobile experiences.
• Make architecture decisions and establish scalable engineering practices across iOS and Android apps.
• Manage the full mobile development lifecycle, from development and testing to App Store and Google Play releases.
• Investigate and resolve complex production issues, enhancing performance, stability, and user experience.
• Mentor and guide mobile engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to hiring, performance evaluations, and the growth of the mobile engineering team.
• Collaborate with platform teams to improve tools, CI/CD pipelines, and SDKs for faster development.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in native iOS development using Swift.
• Experience building and shipping production mobile applications end‑to‑end.
• Proven track record with StoreKit and subscription‑based mobile products.
• Ability to design scalable, performant, and maintainable mobile architectures.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and release management.
• Experience mentoring engineers and participating in hiring processes.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
