Steward

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Steward to join our Food & Beverage team at a Marriott International property in Istanbul. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, supporting food service operations, and ensuring that all equipment and utensils are properly sanitized.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as dishwashers, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
• Wash, disinfect, and store kitchen tools, knives, silverware, and other equipment using proper chemicals and procedures.
• Receive deliveries, store perishables correctly, rotate stock, and ensure clean wares are stored in designated areas.
• Inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items; re‑scrub and re‑wash any items that do not meet standards.
• Break down dirty bus tubs, empty trashcans, and maintain dumpster areas.
• Clean and mop all assigned department areas, dispose of glass and recyclables appropriately.
• Follow all company safety, security, and quality policies; report maintenance needs, accidents, or unsafe conditions.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving objects up to 50 lb and standing for extended periods.

Required profile

• No high school diploma or GED required.
• No prior related work experience is necessary.
• Ability to work full‑time in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
