System Engineer - Virtualization and Cloud Platform Management

About the role

Yapı Kredi Technology, a technology company serving the finance sector, is hiring a System Engineer for its Infrastructure team. You will design, operate and continuously improve enterprise virtualization platforms that support mission-critical banking applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, administer and optimise enterprise VMware virtualisation environments
• Ensure high availability, performance and operational continuity of the virtualisation infrastructure
• Perform system upgrades, patch management and hardware refresh with minimal business impact
• Monitor infrastructure health and resolve performance and capacity issues using VMware management tools
• Troubleshoot complex problems and provide root cause analysis
• Maintain virtualisation standards, procedures and documentation in line with bank IT policies and banking regulations
• Contribute to infrastructure and application projects, run PoCs for new technologies and collaborate with storage, network, cloud and security teams
• Contribute to automation initiatives using PowerShell and Python

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, administering and maintaining VMware virtualisation environments
• Experience with physical and virtual server infrastructure administration
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, good communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of VMware technologies: vSphere, vRealize Operations (vROps), Log Insight and Site Recovery Manager (SRM)
• Scripting and automation with PowerShell and/or Python
• Good understanding of virtualisation, Windows/Linux, storage and networking concepts
• Preferred: VMware Cloud Foundation, vSAN, Nutanix, Dell VxRail, VMware NSX, Tanzu/OpenShift, composable infrastructure and VMware certifications (VCP, VCAP)
