Technical Service Engineer – Transformer Maintenance

About the role

The Technical Service Engineer will join Sönmez Transformer Company's dynamic team at the Dilovası plant. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of power transformers through commissioning, fault detection, maintenance, repair, and on‑site inspections. The role requires close collaboration with internal departments and customers to deliver high‑quality technical service.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in commissioning, fault detection, maintenance, repair, and site inspection activities for transformer installations.
• Conduct troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and repair of transformers and related electrical systems.
• Manage and track all technical service and repair processes from product receipt to delivery, both in‑house and on‑site.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor factory maintenance and repair activities for transformers and auxiliary equipment.
• Create and follow up maintenance and repair orders through ERP systems and internal workflows.
• Prepare technical service reports, maintenance reports, repair records, inspection reports, and related documentation.
• Coordinate with Quality, Production, Planning, Purchasing, and Warehouse departments regarding service and repair operations.
• Submit customer satisfaction surveys after each service and report results to management.
• Monitor service KPIs, support continuous improvement, and manage risks related to field service.
• Support spare‑part planning and material follow‑up for maintenance and repair activities.
• Report unusual situations and quality issues to the Quality Manager and ensure compliance with environmental, OHS, and company procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in engineering functions within a multinational manufacturing environment.
• Experience in transformer service, maintenance, repair, or commissioning is preferred.
• Proficiency in English at B2 level or higher.
• Customer‑oriented mindset with strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of transformer maintenance, repair, and technical service processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with ERP systems (preferably IFS).
• Ability to perform fault detection, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis.
