Training Leader

About the role

The Training Leader will design, implement and oversee a comprehensive training programme for operations and maintenance personnel at SPIE Global Services Energy. Working across utilities, PDH, PP and mechanical, electrical and instrumentation disciplines, the role ensures that staff acquire the competencies required for construction, commissioning and ongoing operation of energy facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Define and roll‑out a structured training matrix covering job roles, competency requirements and project phases, integrating classroom, on‑the‑job and simulator‑based sessions.
• Identify, recruit and manage qualified discipline trainers for operations, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation and HSE areas.
• Develop, validate and control all training materials, including operating procedures, maintenance manuals, technical descriptions and assessment tools.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, licensors (e.g., UOP, LyondellBasell) and OEMs to align training schedules with project milestones and ensure delivery before start‑up.
• Monitor trainer performance, training effectiveness and certification pathways, maintaining version control of all documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in designing and delivering technical training programmes in the oil & gas or renewable energy sector.
• Strong knowledge of plant technologies such as PDH and PP processes.
• Ability to work with EPC contractors, licensors and OEMs to synchronize training activities with project timelines.
• Excellent organisational and document‑control skills.
