Accounting Manager – Turkish Accounting & ERP

About the role

A fast-growing international trading company in Turkey is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead its accounting function. The role ensures the accuracy, compliance and integrity of accounting and statutory reporting, strengthens accounting processes and controls, and strengthens ERP-based operations. The ideal candidate combines expert Turkish accounting and tax knowledge, international company experience, strong English and modern ERP capability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations and ensure compliance with Turkish accounting, tax and statutory requirements (VUK, TFRS where applicable, e-Ledger, e-Invoice, e-Archive).
• Manage accurate and timely monthly and year-end closing.
• Ensure proper accounting of purchases, sales, inventory, imports/exports, FX transactions, accruals, fixed assets and intercompany transactions.
• Own balance-sheet, bank, customer, supplier, inventory and intercompany reconciliations.
• Prepare VAT, withholding, corporate tax and other statutory declarations on time and accurately.
• Coordinate statutory audits, tax reviews and external accounting and tax advisors.
• Maintain strong internal accounting controls, documentation and audit trails.
• Lead and develop the accounting team, with clear responsibilities and high-quality execution.
• Support the development and automation of accounting processes within Microsoft Dynamics / ERP.
• Align Turkish statutory accounting with group and international reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• 10+ years of relevant accounting experience, including senior accounting responsibility.
• Expert knowledge of Turkish accounting and tax legislation.
• Strong experience in statutory reporting, closing, reconciliations and audit.
• Experience with inventory and multi-currency accounting.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Preferred: international trading, FMCG, commodities, import/export or distribution experience; experience in an international group structure; Russian accounting/reporting systems knowledge; SMMM qualification or equivalent.
