Accounting Specialist – Finance Team (Istanbul)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team in Istanbul. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will support daily accounting operations, tax compliance and financial reporting in a dynamic, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting activities, maintain general ledger controls and resolve balance discrepancies.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing, prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses and non‑deductible expense postings.
• Manage fixed‑asset accounting, disposals and related VAT bookings.
• Reconcile intercompany balances and assist with consolidation reporting.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing required documentation.
• Prepare and submit GEKAP, VAT and Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) declarations and support VAT refund processes.
• Ensure compliance with Turkish tax regulations and reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in Turkey.
• Strong knowledge of Turkish accounting practices and tax regulations.
• Completed military service (for male candidates).
• Proficient written and spoken English.

Required skills

• ERP systems experience; SAP knowledge is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Microsoft Office applications.
