Additive Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

The Turkiye Technology Center, in partnership with GE Aerospace and TEI, is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Engineer to work on cutting‑edge aircraft and industrial engine repair processes. The role focuses on simulation‑driven development of metal additive manufacturing builds.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support build simulation activities for new and existing components, predicting distortion, residual stress, thermal behavior, and support effectiveness.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to optimise build layouts, support strategies, scan strategies and part orientation.
• Correlate simulation outputs with experimental data to improve model accuracy and drive root‑cause analysis of build failures.
• Document methods, assumptions, results and recommendations in technical reports and presentations.

Required profile

• 1‑5 years of experience in additive manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, computational simulation or process development.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and technical communication skills, with ability to work in cross‑functional, multicultural teams.
• Familiarity with Lean engineering principles and project management basics.

Required skills

• Hands‑on knowledge of metal AM processes such as Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) and Directed Energy Deposition (DED).
• Experience with build simulation tools for distortion, residual stress, thermal modelling and support strategy.
• Proficiency in CAD and finite element analysis (FEA) software.
• Ability to support Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) decisions using simulation insights.
