Android Developer (Banking)

About the role

OBSS is seeking an Android Developer to join its dynamic team and deliver high‑quality native Android applications for banking and finance clients. You will work on end‑to‑end solutions, collaborating with product managers, designers and backend engineers to create impactful mobile experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain native Android apps using Kotlin and Java.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define requirements and deliver exceptional user experiences.
• Architect scalable, reusable components following clean‑code principles and patterns such as MVVM or MVI.
• Integrate RESTful APIs and third‑party libraries, optimise performance, responsiveness and battery usage.
• Write unit and UI tests (JUnit, Espresso) to ensure stability and quality.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand‑ups and retrospectives.
• Conduct code reviews, manage codebases with Git and contribute to continuous improvement of coding standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to maintain a seamless user experience.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience developing native Android applications.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Kotlin and Java programming languages.
• Android SDK, Android Studio and Jetpack components.
• Modern Android architectures and patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture).
• RESTful APIs, JSON parsing, Retrofit.
• SQLite, Room or Realm databases.
• Unit testing (JUnit) and UI testing (Espresso).
• Material Design principles and UI/UX best practices.
• Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Git version control.
• Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow.
• Dependency injection frameworks such as Hilt or Koin.
