Application Engineer - Industrial Adhesives & Tapes Solutions, Istanbul

About the role

3M is hiring an Application Engineer for its Industrial Adhesives & Tapes Solutions team covering the Emerging Markets region, with responsibility for Turkey and the Middle East and Africa (MEA). The role is based in Istanbul, full-time and hybrid, and involves leading technical work with customers and driving regional growth of the tapes and adhesive business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop expertise in assembly solutions, 3M tapes and adhesive technologies and product performance.
• Design, develop, test and deliver high-impact tapes and adhesive solutions that meet customer needs.
• Work closely with customers, taking the technical lead in projects from product selection and evaluation through design-in and implementation.
• Resolve customer technical issues quickly and give product- and market-focused technical training and demonstrations.
• Generate, interpret and present technical data to key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with R&D, marketing, sales and manufacturing colleagues worldwide.
• Drive regional growth programs, lead technical activities for new product commercialization and support regional customer field tests.
• Bridge customers and product engineering to feed new product development ideas and build technical arguments for 3M technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in application engineering, technical service, product development or a customer-facing technical role.
• Knowledge of adhesives, tapes, bonding, assembly solutions, materials or related technologies.
• Knowledge of transportation appliances and/or construction.
• Ability to turn customer needs into practical technical solutions, with strong analytical skills.
• English and Turkish language proficiency; Arabic is an asset.

Required skills

• Adhesive automation skills.
• Capability of working with AI tools.
• Nice to have: direct experience with customers in industrial, manufacturing, automotive appliance or related markets.
