Bakery & Delicatessen Category Specialist (Project Based)

About the role

METRO is hiring a Bakery & Delicatessen Category Specialist in Bagcilar on a project basis. The role leads day-to-day business relationships with key suppliers through a customer-oriented approach, covering contracting, ordering, demand communication, delivery changes, issue resolution and follow-up on back orders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily supplier relationships, including contracting, ordering, demand communication, delivery time changes, issue resolution and back-order follow-up.
• Carry out regular market research to analyse supplier, product and competitor trends.
• Decide product assortment in line with trends and customer expectations.
• Prepare monthly reports on category operations to review sales performance and take action.
• Provide content for Metro's marketing campaign tools to reach over 1 million households.
• Coordinate between the category and the stores, and work with Sales, Finance, Marketing and Logistics to reach category targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Food lover and interest in gastronomy.
• Ability to manage cross-functional relationships and work under pressure while prioritising multiple projects.

• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
