Chief Technology Officer (Mobile App)

About the role

Arise, a globally active weight‑loss app with over 10 million downloads, is seeking a CTO to own and evolve its iOS app and to build a new Android version from scratch. The role combines deep iOS architecture with the creation of a high‑quality Android product, leveraging AI‑driven development.

Key responsibilities

• Own and architect the existing iOS app – maintain, optimise, deepen and future‑proof a mature codebase used by millions.
• Design and deliver the Arise Android app from the ground up, ensuring a coherent technical vision across platforms.
• Use AI agents and automated workflows as the primary means of building, testing and shipping.
• Collaborate with design to refine usability and support monetisation through measurable feature integration.

Required profile

• Proven track record architecting and shipping production mobile apps, preferably as a senior engineer, lead or technical founder.
• Deep, architect‑level iOS expertise with the confidence to make structural decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to build an Android app from scratch to the same standard.
• Hands‑on fluency with AI‑driven development tools and workflows, having shipped products this way.

Required skills

• Expert‑level iOS/Swift development – architecture, patterns, performance.
• Strong Android development (Kotlin) and end‑to‑end app architecture.
• Familiarity with mobile build and release tooling (e.g., Fastlane).
• Experience with AI agents, LLM‑driven workflows, automated testing and release pipelines.
