Cloud Engineering Analyst

About the role

World Business Lenders (WBL) is a privately held portfolio lender for real estate-secured business loans, with a fully remote, multinational workforce. It is hiring a Cloud Engineering Analyst, an entry-level role supporting the deployment, operation and maintenance of WBL's cloud infrastructure under the direction of the Infrastructure & Security Manager. The schedule is typically 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday to Friday, with extra hours depending on business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provision and maintain cloud resources using approved configurations and change procedures.
• Support virtual machines, storage, networking, identity permissions and services hosting WBL applications.
• Monitor availability, performance and resource usage, troubleshoot issues and escalate service disruptions.
• Maintain backups and help with restore testing and disaster recovery exercises.
• Apply approved patches and security settings, working with Cybersecurity on vulnerabilities and access issues.
• Automate repeatable tasks with scripts and infrastructure templates, documenting and testing changes before deployment.
• Track cloud spending, find unused or oversized resources and recommend cost improvements.
• Maintain infrastructure records and procedures, and coordinate deployments with development and Help Desk teams.

Required profile

• Strong spoken and written English, able to explain technical issues and write accurate documentation.
• Foundational knowledge of cloud computing, networking, DNS, identity and access management, and Windows or Linux administration.
• Practical exposure to a cloud platform through coursework, labs, projects, internships or employment; prior professional experience is not required.
• Relevant education, technical training or equivalent demonstrated skills, and careful handling of confidential information.
• Availability during U.S. Eastern business hours, with a reliable internet connection, a dedicated workspace and the ability to work independently and communicate with a distributed team.

Required skills

• Basic scripting in PowerShell, Python or a similar language.
• Ability to troubleshoot systematically and follow change procedures.
• Preferred: hands-on Microsoft Azure (VMs, containers, virtual networks, storage, Azure Monitor, Microsoft Entra ID), Bicep or Terraform, Git, Azure certifications, and cloud cost management.
