Data Integration and Governance Analyst

About the role

World Business Lenders (WBL) provides short-term commercial loans backed by real estate to small and medium-sized businesses in the United States. This is a full-time contract/consultant position, fully remote, with working hours typically 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Eastern Standard Time, Monday to Friday. Candidates need an excellent command of spoken and written English and must submit their CV in English.

Key responsibilities

• Improve data pipelines through automation with quality checks, ensuring accuracy, consistency and reliability across the data processing workflow.
• Migrate legacy systems to new ones, with thorough analysis, seamless data transfer and integration that maintains continuity without disrupting operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field preferred, but equivalent hands-on experience is highly valued.
• 4 to 7 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and data warehouses used by reporting and business teams.
• Experience building and maintaining automated data pipelines, including scheduling, orchestration and failure handling.
• For the migration focus: schema mapping, data reconciliation, backfills, cutover planning and execution.
• Availability Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Eastern Time, with a stable internet connection and a professional remote working setup.

Required skills

• Strong SQL and data modeling for data warehouses.
• Strong Python, especially notebooks, for data workflows.
• ETL/ELT development and maintenance.
• Git/GitHub for version control.
• Pipeline orchestration, data quality, validation and monitoring.
• Preferred: Microsoft Fabric or Azure data ecosystem, Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, data quality observability, query tuning, Parquet/Delta, REST APIs, CI/CD for data workflows.
