Community Liaison Officer

About the role

The Community Liaison Officer (CLO) will serve as the primary link between the project team and local stakeholders in Sivas, Turkey. The role focuses on building trust, communicating project information, and managing grievances in a culturally appropriate manner.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, record, and communicate public and social views, opinions, and grievances to relevant personnel.
• Set up and maintain a grievance complaint tracker, documenting complainant details and status.
• Publicise project information, translate materials into local languages, and distribute them to stakeholders.
• Handle straightforward information requests and obtain clarifications for complex grievances.
• Ensure all external grievances are recorded, addressed, and resolved within defined timelines.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of compliance obligations related to stakeholder engagement.
• Prepare and deliver engagement records, grievance reports, and community feedback summaries.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of the Sivas region and ability to speak the local language.
• Experience in community engagement, stakeholder liaison, or social impact monitoring.
• Familiarity with grievance handling procedures and relevant compliance standards (e.g., IFC Performance Standards).
• Ability to work independently, maintain accurate records, and communicate clearly with diverse audiences.
