Cost Controller - Hotel

About the role

The Cost Controller audits and analyses hotel operational activities and provides accurate reports and recommendations. The role safeguards the financial integrity and stability of the hotel, minimises exposure to risk and helps departments run efficiently. It is based on the Kempinski brand.

Key responsibilities

• Follow and understand all Kempinski policies and procedures.
• Spot-check receiving of goods and verify delivery accuracy.
• Spot-check the culinary area and verify yield and wastage.
• Verify that food recipes are accurate, with updated cost and sale prices and compliance during preparation.
• Spot-check Housekeeping, Laundry and Stewarding for proper use of materials and dosages.
• Spot-check bars for recipe and portion standard compliance.
• Audit the market list and use of seasonal items, and audit inventory movements.
• Perform random inventories and compare them with perpetual inventory.
• Create and distribute monthly cost reports.
• Communicate with the supervisor on invoice discrepancies and other issues.

Required profile

• Minimum high school or relevant degree; a university degree is an asset.
• 2+ years as a Cost Controller, preferably in a 5-star hotel chain.
• Excellent spoken and written Turkish and English.
• Ability to handle high volume with attention to detail and strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Professional, confidential and ethical approach; works safely and prudently.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Experience with accounting software is a plus.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and local regulations.
