Customer Quality Engineer

About the role

Join PHINIA, a global leader in fuel and electrical systems, as a Customer Quality Engineer. You will support OEM customers, manage warranty complaints, and drive continuous improvement in a fast‑moving automotive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage customer complaints and warranty issues, including containment, root‑cause analysis, and 8D report preparation.
• Track effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions and coordinate third‑party containment when required.
• Support on‑time PPAP submissions and ensure compliance with customer PPAP requirements.
• Assist operational functions with customer communication on change and deviation requests.
• Prepare for and support internal and customer audits (IATF 16949, VDA 6.3) and APQP processes.
• Contribute to P‑FMEA/R‑FMEA activities and help achieve quality KPIs.

Required profile

• Graduated in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical or Automotive Engineering.
• Fluent in English with at least 2 years of quality experience supporting OEMs in the automotive industry.
• Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements (CSR) and active use of OEM portals.
• Strong understanding of automotive quality system requirements (IATF 16949, VDA 6.3).

Required skills

• Problem‑solving tools: 5‑Why, fishbone, 8D.
• IATF 16949 basic tools: PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA.
• Continuous‑improvement methodologies: Six Sigma, Shainin, Kaizen.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
