Data Engineer

About the role

DFDS is seeking a Data Engineer to join its Istanbul Data Engineering team. You will work with a modern tech stack to build and maintain data infrastructure that supports decision‑making across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust data pipelines using Airflow and dbt.
• Design and optimise data models in Snowflake for analytics and reporting.
• Integrate data from REST APIs and ensure data quality, reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing and the evolution of engineering best practices.

Required profile

• Curious, proactive and eager to grow, with strong communication skills.
• Enjoy solving complex problems and taking ownership of data pipelines from requirements to production.

Required skills

• Experience with dbt, Airflow or similar data engineering tools.
• Familiarity with Snowflake and AWS (S3) cloud data platforms.
• Solid understanding of SQL and data modelling principles.
• Python programming in a data engineering context.
• Knowledge of Power BI semantic models.
• Understanding of containerisation, Kubernetes and CI/CD practices (hands‑on preferred).
