Product Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a product‑minded engineer who understands user problems before writing code and measures success by impact, not just delivery. You will own features end‑to‑end on our AI‑driven research platform, from concept through production and performance analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product, UX and Research teams to uncover real user needs and shape ideas into small, shippable increments.
• Design and deliver features across React applications and NestJS micro‑services, including real‑time chat (Socket.io) and background jobs.
• Maintain and evolve a large monorepo of backend micro‑services and multiple front‑end apps, ensuring code quality, performance and technical debt reduction.
• Develop LLM‑powered features using OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, LangChain and LangGraph, and evaluate them with Langfuse.
• Define success metrics, track usage with PostHog, and iterate based on data.
• Deploy and operate services on AWS (ECS, Lambda, SQS, S3) using CDK, keep CI/CD pipelines healthy, and monitor with OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch and Sentry.
• Review AI‑generated code, write tests and enforce security standards aligned with GDPR and ISO 27001.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering user‑facing products.
• Strong focus on “why” and “for whom”, making sensible scope trade‑offs without compromising quality.
• Excellent communication skills, able to work closely with product, design and research colleagues.
• Comfortable handling ambiguous problems, turning vague requirements into clear plans.
