Data Privacy Lawyer (Assistant / Senior)

About the role

EY Türkiye is seeking an experienced Data Privacy Lawyer (Assistant / Senior) to join its Law Department in Istanbul. The role involves advising clients on technology‑related legal matters and leading data‑protection projects across Turkish and European regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on technology law topics such as data protection, artificial intelligence, e‑commerce and cyber‑security.
• Lead KVKK and GDPR compliance projects, including drafting privacy notices, policies and data‑protection agreements.
• Negotiate and review contracts, terms of service and other IT‑related agreements.
• Participate in e‑commerce and data‑privacy audit engagements and prepare Data Protection Impact Assessment reports.
• Conduct legal research, draft opinions, lawsuit petitions and communications with authorities.
• Ensure client files contain all required communications, QRM reviews and approvals.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and share knowledge across the firm.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with solid experience in Turkish data‑protection law (KVKK) and EU GDPR.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex legal issues and produce clear, actionable advice.
• Experience in drafting privacy policies, notices and contractual clauses.
• Strong research skills and familiarity with e‑commerce, AI and cyber‑security regulations.
