Digital Assets Security Engineer

About the role

As a Digital Assets Security Engineer you will design, implement and secure ING’s digital‑asset technology stack. Working with wallet infrastructure, key management, cryptographic controls and blockchain integrations, you will ensure the platforms are secure by design and compliant with banking regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build security‑critical components such as wallets, custody models and tokenisation platforms.
• Implement cryptographic controls, secure signing and transaction‑authorization mechanisms.
• Collaborate with blockchain engineers, architects, cyber‑security, risk, compliance and legal teams to embed security throughout the development lifecycle.
• Perform security reviews, threat modelling and audits of smart‑contract code and blockchain nodes.
• Maintain resilience, auditability and regulatory compliance of digital‑asset services in a production environment.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, solution design or architecture.
• Strong stakeholder management across business and technology domains.
• Excellent communication in English (C1 level or above).
• Experience working in Agile organisations.

• Cyber security and secure software engineering.
• Platform security and cryptographic systems.
• Blockchain and digital‑asset fundamentals (wallets, key management, digital signatures, smart contracts, tokens, custody models).
• Agile development practices.
