Python Developer

About the role

Our technology organization is building AI‑powered platforms and high‑performance backend systems for a fast‑growing fintech scale‑up. We are looking for a Python Developer to design, implement and maintain core services that power our point‑of‑sale solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services and REST APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Design data models and manage schema changes in PostgreSQL.
• Build distributed concurrency and queue mechanisms with Redis.
• Develop event‑driven integrations using Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Develop and manage services running on Kubernetes.
• Design and implement state machines and other distributed system components.
• Write and maintain unit, integration and end‑to‑end tests.
• Document technical decisions and system designs.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Python and asyncio.
• Production experience with FastAPI or a similar asynchronous API framework.
• Deep experience with PostgreSQL, including data modelling, indexing and transaction management.
• Experience with Redis for distributed coordination, streams, pub/sub and locks.
• Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ and event‑driven integration patterns.
• Experience developing services on Kubernetes, including pod lifecycle and graceful shutdown.
• Familiarity with layered architecture, strongly typed code and static type checking.
• Strong testing practices covering unit, integration and end‑to‑end tests.
