Enterprise Architect

About the role

A newly formed architecture function within the Business Solutions Directorate covers Enterprise Architecture, Application Architecture and Process Architecture; this is the priority hire focused on Enterprise Architecture. You will take a holistic, end-to-end view of ongoing IT and digital transformation projects and steer them so the technology landscape stays coherent, integrated and aligned with enterprise strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the enterprise architecture across business, application, data and technology layers, and establish architecture principles, standards and reference architectures
• Own the architecture governance process and lead or take part in architecture review boards
• Maintain the architecture repository and tooling, reflecting current and target-state landscapes
• Review project designs against architecture principles, flag misalignments early and guide project teams toward consistent decisions
• Identify cross-project dependencies, redundancies and conflicts and resolve them with stakeholders
• Act as the link between projects, the future Application and Process Architects and business stakeholders, translating strategy into practical guidance
• Own the target-state architecture vision and transition roadmap, and contribute to the IT and digital transformation strategy
• Assess emerging technologies and help mature the architecture practice

Required profile

• 8+ years in enterprise architecture or a related senior architecture role
• Excellent written and spoken English, used daily
• Proven track record of steering multiple concurrent initiatives and producing clear architecture artifacts such as landscape diagrams, capability maps and roadmaps
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• Preferred: TOGAF certification, logistics/e-commerce/cargo experience, and experience building an architecture practice

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture concepts and frameworks (e.g. TOGAF)
• Understanding of application, integration and data architecture
• Hands-on experience with enterprise architecture tooling (e.g. LeanIX, ArchiMate-based tools)
• Familiarity with SAP landscapes (S/4HANA) and their integration with other applications
