Finance Specialist – Turkey

About the role

A Chinese-headquartered enterprise is looking for a Finance Specialist to support its Turkish entity. The role covers local accounting, tax and compliance, treasury and payments, and provides financial data and analysis to the Finance Manager in North-Eastern Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day bookkeeping, monthly closing and reconciliation, and deliver monthly reports and supporting schedules to the group.
• Manage local tax filings and payments (VAT, corporate income tax, withholding tax) with accurate supporting documentation.
• Liaise with tax authorities, external accountants and auditors, handle inspections and audits, and monitor compliance such as e-Fatura / e-Arşiv.
• Manage local bank accounts, reconcile bank statements and receipts, and run expense reimbursement and supplier payments.
• Provide basic analysis of expenses, gross margin and cash flow for local sales and operations.
• Monitor the impact of the TRY exchange rate and inflation on profitability and alert the Finance Manager.
• Maintain tax, reconciliation and contract ledgers, and escalate exceptions.
• Support headquarters with budgeting, forecasting and ad-hoc data requests.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Economics or a related field.
• 3+ years of local finance or accounting experience in Turkey.
• Solid knowledge of Turkish Financial Reporting Standards (TFRS) and the local tax regime, with hands-on filing experience.
• Native or fluent Turkish; good written and spoken English with headquarters.
• Detailed, proactive and fast learner, comfortable working remotely and escalating risks.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems; SAP or Oracle is a plus.
• Preferred: experience in cross-border e-commerce, consumer electronics or multinationals, inflation accounting (IAS 29), and certifications such as SMMM, YMM, ACCA or CPA.
