Freelance Auditor - Responsible Food Systems (ASC Feed/Farm) - Turkey

About the role

SCS Global Services Europe is building a flexible pool of multi-qualified contract auditors to support its Responsible Food Systems (RFS) programmes across Europe. Contract auditors carry out third-party audits and verifications according to international and scheme-specific requirements, covering food safety, responsible sourcing, social compliance and sustainable seafood. Engagements are contract-based, per audit or per day, and travel within Europe is required.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct third-party audits in line with programme standards, accreditation rules and SCS procedures
• Prepare clear, timely and accurate audit reports and supporting documentation
• Review corrective actions and verify their closure where applicable
• Communicate professionally with clients, SCS programme staff and technical reviewers
• Maintain auditor qualifications, CPD and required certifications
• Comply with SCS quality, impartiality, confidentiality and ethics requirements
• Travel within assigned European and surrounding regions as required

Required profile

• Qualified as an external lead auditor in at least one of the listed schemes, with a recent audit log; multi-scheme qualifications are highly preferred
• Professional fluency in English and at least one of German, French, Spanish or Italian; Portuguese, Dutch, Turkish or Arabic are highly desirable
• University degree or more than 2 years' equivalent professional experience in food, agriculture, aquaculture, sustainability or social compliance
• Ability to work independently as a contract auditor and willingness to travel within Europe

Required skills

• Food safety: BRCGS Food Safety
• Sustainable seafood: ASC Farm Lead, ASC Farm Social, ASC Feed, GSA, BAP and SPS
• Social and ethical compliance: SMETA / SEDEX or APSCA (required for SMETA social audits)
• Palm oil: RSPO Supply Chain Certification
• Preferred: ISO management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001); active IMS qualifications may be considered for combined audits
