Head of Finance - R&D

About the role

A partner company is looking for a Head of Finance - R&D based in Turkey to oversee the financial and banking infrastructure of a portfolio of fast-growing international technology businesses. The role shapes a multi-jurisdictional banking network, strengthens payment operations and manages complex treasury activities across several entities, working closely with founders and senior leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Banking and payment infrastructure: design a multi-jurisdictional banking network, identify and onboard banks, EMIs, PSPs, custodians and financial platforms, negotiate fees, FX rates and hedging terms, and set up backup banking relationships.
• Treasury and liquidity: manage multi-currency liquidity, working capital and cash pooling; oversee international transfers via SWIFT, SEPA and ACH; monitor and reduce FX spreads, acquiring fees and banking charges.
• Compliance, KYC and regulatory strategy: coordinate banking due diligence, communicate with bank compliance and risk teams, and support financial restructuring and corporate changes.
• Financial systems and partnership: build treasury and finance processes from the ground up, partner with founders on unit economics, ROI and financial modelling, and recruit and lead the treasury and operational finance team.

Required profile

• At least 5 years as a CFO, VP of Finance or Head of Treasury in fast-growing businesses.
• Proven track record of opening corporate bank accounts and setting up efficient payment processes.
• Deep knowledge of international AML/KYC principles and cross-border compliance.
• Experience managing multi-currency funds, FX exposure, settlement instruments and transaction cost optimisation.
• Strong negotiation skills and advanced English (C1/C2).
