Head of Strategic Procurement & Cost Optimization

About the role

The Head of Strategic Procurement & Cost Optimization will lead the transformation of procurement from an operational function to a strategic value‑creation partner. This senior position focuses on maximizing profitability through strategic sourcing, cost engineering, supplier strategy and data‑driven decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a long‑term procurement and cost‑optimization strategy for all direct materials, including raw materials, packaging and production‑related categories.
• Analyze product cost structures, drive engineering‑based cost‑reduction initiatives and build predictive procurement models that anticipate market changes.
• Monitor global commodity markets, currency movements, inflation, freight costs and geopolitical developments to manage risk and capture commercial opportunities.
• Lead strategic supplier negotiations, establish long‑term partnerships and diversify the supplier base to strengthen supply resilience.
• Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Operations, Finance and Commercial teams to optimise formulations, packaging and total product cost.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain, Economics or related field; Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive procurement experience, at least 5 years in a senior procurement leadership role within manufacturing.
• Strong commercial acumen, advanced analytical capabilities and proven track record of delivering measurable cost reductions and margin improvements.
• Experience in FMCG, Home Care, Personal Care, Chemicals or Consumer Products manufacturing.
