Import Specialist

About the role

Baymak, a Turkish manufacturer of HVAC products with two production facilities in Tuzla, Istanbul, is looking for an Import Specialist. The role covers international supplier research, customs, logistics and procurement, from the first overseas order until goods arrive at the warehouse.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the continuity of international supplier research, selection and evaluation.
• Organize and monitor customs, logistics and product safety procedures from overseas order to warehouse receipt.
• Stay up to date with international procurement legislation.
• Contact suppliers, collect quotations and evaluate offers.
• Prepare contracts for materials, equipment and services.
• Research alternative suppliers and sub-industry partners.
• Plan and carry out supplier and partner audits and inspections, report results and initiate corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Solid knowledge of import legislation and Incoterms.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in automotive, HVAC or white goods.
• Experience in customs and logistics is a plus.
• Advanced written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office and SAP.
• Advanced negotiation and bargaining skills.
