About the role
The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is seeking a motivated intern to support its Strategic Prioritization and Practices Branch in Istanbul. The role offers a flexible work arrangement—full‑time, part‑time, onsite, remote or hybrid—over a maximum period of six months.
Key responsibilities
- Research, analyse and synthesize information on humanitarian coordination topics such as inter‑cluster coordination.
- Draft study sections, background papers, policy notes, infographics and presentations.
- Maintain reference and resource libraries on humanitarian policy and coordination.
- Assist in organising meetings, workshops and events, including note‑taking.
- Perform other tasks as requested by the supervisor.
Required profile
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant academic programme (e.g., international relations, humanitarian studies, public policy).
- Strong interest in humanitarian coordination and policy implementation.
- Excellent written communication and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with a multicultural team.
