International Communications Director

About the role

ISTANBUL'74 is seeking an experienced International Communications Director to lead communications and oversee relationships across its international cultural projects, exhibitions, collaborations and publishing platforms, including SEVENTYFOUR magazine and '74 CULTURE. The role manages relationships with artists, cultural institutions, galleries, media and strategic partners across Istanbul, New York, Paris and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Lead international communications across projects and platforms, keeping a consistent institutional voice.
• Manage correspondence and maintain strong relationships with international collaborators and partners.
• Oversee proposals, presentations, press materials and editorial communications.
• Identify and develop cultural partnerships and opportunities for international visibility.
• Coordinate communications between internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Develop cultural partnerships, institutional collaborations, sponsorships and brand projects, turning conversations into proposals and projects.
• Lead partnership outreach, presentations, negotiations and follow-up with the Founder & Creative Director, and keep a pipeline of prospective collaborations.
• Coordinate confirmed partnerships with the relevant teams, defining responsibilities, deliverables and communication with external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Significant experience in a senior communications or international relations role in the arts, culture, publishing or creative industries.
• Exceptional command of written and spoken English, with outstanding writing and interpersonal skills.
• Broad understanding of contemporary art and global culture.
• Ability to build and sustain relationships in an international environment.
• Excellent organisational skills, sound judgment, discretion and attention to detail.
• Proactive, articulate and able to work independently and represent ISTANBUL'74 internationally.
