Lead Supply Chain Engineer

About the role

The Lead Supply Chain Engineer controls procurement of critical materials at the right cost, time and quality, maintains material master and inventory replenishment plans, takes part in regional and business inventory forecasting, and optimizes inventory levels and accuracy. The position is based at the Gebze plant.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain data for material requirements planning: sourcing and replenishment, supplier, planning calendar, material and location data.
• Lead regular Material Review Board (MRB) meetings and share outcomes with finance, engineering, sales and plant to reduce obsolete inventory.
• Manage inventory control, eliminate excess and obsolete stock, improve material movement, set inventory locations and use inventory space efficiently.
• Run the cycle counting program so counts are daily and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
• Plan, create and process requisitions and purchase orders for critical materials, track orders and ensure on-time delivery.
• Work with Quality Assurance on inspection at delivery to confirm goods meet specifications.
• Build supplier relationships, measure supplier performance on quality, delivery and service, communicate daily and resolve supply issues.
• Collaborate with finance, sales and operations, and initiate actions on non-quality, missing or damaged materials.
• Implement Kanban and VMI practices to keep optimal days of holding inventory.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Material and Metallurgical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in material management, supply chain or procurement.
• Strong verbal and written English and Turkish.
• Willingness to work at the Gebze plant.
• Desired: PMI APMP or equivalent supplier quality management certification, strong analytical and negotiation skills, ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in ERP systems and experience leading or supporting procurement/supply chain project deployments.
• High-level proficiency in MS Office Suite.
