Merchandising Specialist

About the role

Anatolia, a Canadian-founded manufacturer of ceramic, tile and natural stone products with a distribution centre in Aliaga, Izmir, Turkey, is looking for a Merchandising Specialist. The role covers production planning and merchandising activities, from item master data and bills of materials to material and labour analysis and coordination with suppliers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all production-related SAP tasks, from creating item masters to releasing finished goods to warehouses.
• Maintain a precise item master database with accurate attributes and inventory parameters.
• Create and maintain accurate bills of materials and routings for assembly items.
• Calculate material and labour requirements using material yield calculations and time studies, and analyse them regularly against budget.
• Estimate and order raw materials, and provide the production team with production orders, work instructions, drawings and product labels.
• Capture materials and labour consumed by production orders and coordinate inbound and outbound material transfers.
• Maintain inventory of raw materials and consumables through monthly physical counts and consumption tracking, and recommend replenishment actions.
• Act as a liaison between Merchandising, Marketing, Sales, Customer Experience, Finance, Inventory, Supply Chain, Operations and Transportation teams, and build good relationships with suppliers and customers.
• Assist in setting up processes and procedures, and create standard operating procedures as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or a related field.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Good command of English.
• Experience in woodwork, printing, assembly and tile industry is an asset.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and effective communication across the organisation.

Required skills

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of the SAP Production Planning module (preferred).
• Good proficiency in MS Excel.
