Mobile Equipment & Workshop Specialist

About the role

DP World is seeking a Mobile Equipment & Workshop Specialist to join its Technical team. The role focuses on ensuring the reliability, maintenance and continuous improvement of mobile equipment used in container terminal operations. You will work closely with technicians and cross‑functional teams to maximise equipment availability while upholding safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support maintenance, repair and reliability of Reach Stackers, Empty Container Handlers, Terminal Tractors and Forklifts.
• Monitor equipment performance using KPIs such as MTBF, preventive‑maintenance compliance, availability, utilization, fuel consumption and emissions.
• Analyse recurring failures, conduct Root Cause Analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Perform predictive‑maintenance and diagnostic activities, including vibration analysis, thermal imaging, ultrasonic testing and oil analysis.
• Conduct maintenance quality inspections and ensure repairs meet company standards.
• Provide technical guidance on electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems to workshop technicians.
• Support implementation of Reliability‑Centered Maintenance (RCM) and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, technical documentation and analysis reports.
• Ensure workshop activities comply with health, safety, environmental, quality and ISO management system requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture by exercising stop‑work authority when unsafe conditions are identified.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and equipment performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive or Hydraulic Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum three years of experience in maintenance, repair, engineering or project work on heavy mobile equipment.
• Hands‑on experience with electrical, electronic, hydraulic, engine, transmission and mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with container‑terminal equipment or similar heavy industrial machinery is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic and mechanical schematics.
• Experience using diagnostic software for heavy mobile equipment.
• Knowledge of predictive‑maintenance techniques such as vibration analysis, thermal imaging, ultrasonic testing and oil analysis.
• Proficiency with CMMS platforms, preferably Maximo, and Microsoft Office applications.
