NGS Technician

About the role

Phenome Omics, a biotechnology research company based in Ataşehir, Istanbul, is looking for an NGS technician. The role leads and supports the day-to-day NGS laboratory operations, from sample processing to sequencing on Illumina platforms, and contributes to ongoing genomics and multi-omics research projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily NGS lab operations, including DNA/RNA isolation from human saliva, stool, blood and mouse tissue, library preparation and high-quality data generation on Illumina platforms.
• Implement comprehensive quality control steps to ensure the accuracy, reproducibility and reliability of sequencing data, and help continuously improve sequencing workflows.
• Contribute actively to ongoing genomics and multi-omics research projects and take part in national and international collaborations led by the company.

Required profile

• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in the relevant field.
• Demonstrated hands-on expertise in molecular biology and NGS laboratory techniques.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team, while handling multiple projects at once.
• Results-oriented, with strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain high data quality standards in a fast-paced research environment.

Required skills

• DNA/RNA isolation, quantification, PCR, qPCR, NGS library preparation, quality control and sequencing workflows.
• Experience with WGS, RNA-Seq and metagenome sequencing.
• Direct experience with Illumina platforms such as NovaSeq, NextSeq and MiSeq.
