Ocean Freight Operations – Istanbul

About the role

We are a UK‑based freight forwarding company seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Freight Forwarding / Logistics Controller to join our Istanbul office. The position supports UK market operations, communicating entirely in English with customers, carriers and overseas partners.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage import and export shipments for the UK market.
• Communicate with UK customers, overseas agents, shipping lines, airlines and other carriers.
• Monitor shipment progress and provide timely updates.
• Prepare and manage shipping documentation.
• Support day‑to‑day logistics operations and resolve operational issues.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and internal reports.
• Work closely with the UK operations team to deliver high‑level customer service.

Required profile

• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Previous experience in freight forwarding, shipping or international logistics is strongly preferred.
• Experience with CargoWise is a significant advantage.
• Professional communication skills in a business environment.
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and a positive attitude.
• Junior candidates should demonstrate genuine interest in a freight forwarding career.
