Operations Agent – Customs Brokerage

About the role

Expeditors, a global logistics company and Fortune 500 employer with over 350 locations, is hiring an Operations Agent in Istanbul. The role supports the import-export customs desk, ensuring smooth and timely operations, accurate data entry and compliant customs declarations.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure smooth and timely operation process flow
• Enter data accurately and on time into the operational system
• Track and trace operation files and reporting
• Ensure accurate and timely client billing
• Understand the customs desk operating procedure and interpret it to meet customer expectations
• Transfer customs declaration information from documents or other sources into the customs entry system so a valid declaration can be built
• Assist with verifying customs declaration information and submitting it to the customs authority
• Comply at all times with regulations

Required profile

• Experience in operations is a plus
• Understanding of ocean, road and air documentation processes
• Effective interpersonal skills and a proactive approach
• Strong organisational and computer skills
• Fluent English and Turkish

Required skills

• Good computer skills, including MS Excel and MS Word
