Panel Design Engineer – Electrical Systems

About the role

Sönmez Transformer Company (STS) is a fast‑growing manufacturer of power and special transformers. The Panel Design Engineer will take ownership of the complete electrical panel design process for low‑voltage (LV) and medium‑voltage (MV) systems, ensuring solutions meet project requirements, customer expectations and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and continuously improve LV/MV panel systems according to technical specifications and IEC/TSE standards.
• Prepare, update and manage revisions of electrical and mechanical drawings for panel assemblies.
• Interpret single‑line diagrams, power circuits and control schematics and integrate them into detailed designs.
• Coordinate closely with production teams to transfer designs accurately to manufacturing and site implementation.
• Provide technical support during production and develop rapid solutions to arising issues.
• Participate in material selection, ensuring technical suitability of circuit breakers, contactors, relays, busbars and other components.
• Collaborate with supply‑chain, procurement and quality teams to guarantee material compliance.
• Manage design timelines and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Proven hands‑on experience in electrical panel design processes.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layout drawings and detailed design documents.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving mindset and effective communication skills.
• Experience working with blue‑collar production teams and coordinating cross‑functional activities.
