About the role
MSC Group is seeking a Port Captain to join its Shipping Agency in Istanbul. The role involves coordinating vessel operations at berth, ensuring smooth terminal services, and protecting MSC’s interests on the ground.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, monitor and manage live berth activities, ensuring schedule compliance.
- Coordinate vessel operations with terminals, secure berths, and issue gang orders.
- Minimize quay losses, maintain vessel program, and report any operational issues to managers.
- Work closely with agents, terminals and internal teams to increase berth productivity and reduce port stay.
- Monitor terminal upgrades and address any vessel‑related issues that could cause delays.
Required profile
- Graduated from maritime or port management studies.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in vessel or terminal operations.
- Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Ability to work flexible and busy hours, with strong team management and coordination abilities.
- Analytical thinking, self‑motivation and business discipline.
Required skills
- Proficient use of MS Office applications.
