Presales Engineer - Virtualization & Infrastructure

About the role

ENYX is a technology distributor in system infrastructure, virtualization and cybersecurity, acting as a technical bridge between its vendors and partners. It is looking for a Presales Engineer with strong expertise in virtualization and infrastructure and a solid grasp of networking, storage and cybersecurity. You will join customer meetings with the sales team, understand the technical and operational needs and design the right solution, proving it through presentations, demos and PoCs.

Key responsibilities

• Gather customer requirements and analyse existing infrastructure, needs and growth plans
• Design end-to-end infrastructure solutions focused on virtualization, HCI, storage, backup and business continuity, adding networking and cybersecurity components where needed
• Prepare sizing documents, architecture diagrams, technical proposals and RFP/RFQ responses
• Plan and deliver technical presentations, demos, workshops and PoCs
• Evaluate competing solutions and defend technical design decisions
• Coordinate technically between vendors, partners and the sales team
• Provide product and project-based technical support to partners' technical teams

Required profile

• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise virtualization platforms, hypervisors, cluster architecture, resource allocation, live migration and centralized management
• Ability to design, size and validate scalable virtualization and HCI solutions
• Deep understanding of HA cluster design, automated failover, quorum, split-brain prevention, replication and DR architectures, and of backup/recovery strategies, RPO/RTO and business continuity planning
• Strong knowledge of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, VLANs, routing, switching, virtual switches, NIC bonding, link aggregation and network redundancy
• Solid hands-on experience with SAN, NAS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NFS, distributed storage, RAID, multipathing, snapshots and storage replication
• General understanding of enterprise security architectures and experience in presales, systems engineering or solution architecture
• Ability to explain technical topics clearly to customers and to work alongside sales teams
• English sufficient to communicate with vendors and follow technical documentation, and willingness to travel when needed
