Procurement Specialist

About the role

Karadeniz Holding, an energy and shipbuilding group operating in more than 20 countries, is looking for a Procurement Specialist for its Supply Chain Management department in the Istanbul headquarters. The role covers purchasing of goods and services, supplier management and contract negotiations.

Key responsibilities

• Purchase goods and services with the desired quality and technical specifications, at optimal cost from confirmed suppliers on time.
• Prepare and interpret price comparison tables by analysing commercial conditions.
• Identify potential suppliers, visit existing ones and build good relationships.
• Develop alternative suppliers and materials to gain cost and quality advantages.
• Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers and internal departments, and take proactive action on commercial issues.
• Carry out cost-down work to lower total purchasing costs.
• Negotiate contracts and prices with suppliers for medium to large volumes and establish purchasing contracts.
• Prepare and present reports to the Procurement Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical-Electronics, Mechanical, Industrial, Metallurgical and Materials, Civil, Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, Maritime Transportation and Management, etc.).
• At least 3 years of experience in procurement processes.
• Very good command of Turkish and English.
• Knowledge of contract law.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, handle stress, and strong negotiation and communication skills.
• No restrictions on travel.
