Purchase Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Purchase Specialist to join our team in Levent, Istanbul. The role is responsible for managing purchasing activities for assigned vessels, ensuring timely, cost‑effective, and reliable procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end purchasing process through our in‑house procurement system, from vessel requisitions to successful delivery on board.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, conduct commercial comparisons, and negotiate competitive prices and terms.
• Coordinate with vessels, suppliers, agents, and logistics providers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
• Monitor order status, follow up on pending or delayed orders, and minimize operational disruptions.
• Handle post‑order documentation, including delivery notes, invoices, and purchasing records.
• Maintain accurate purchasing transactions in the ERP/procurement system and develop strong relationships with the global supplier network.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Maritime Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain, preferably in the maritime or shipping industry.
• Advanced written and spoken English (C1 level preferred).
• Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented, solution‑focused with excellent organizational and follow‑up skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Experience with ERP or procurement systems.
