Senior Data Architect / Data Engineer

About the role

NTT DATA Business Solutions is looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer / Data Architect to join its Analytics team. You will design, build and evolve modern enterprise Data Lakehouse platforms based on open-source technologies, combining hands-on engineering with architectural ownership across data ingestion, distributed processing, storage, governance and analytics layers. The role contributes to strategic data initiatives supporting reporting, self-service analytics, machine learning, AI and next-generation data products.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-scale Data Lakehouse architectures.
• Develop scalable batch and real-time data pipelines.
• Build and optimize distributed data processing solutions using Apache Spark.
• Design data models, storage strategies and analytics layers for large-scale platforms.
• Implement high-performance analytical query environments using Trino.
• Design and operate data platforms running on Kubernetes.
• Manage and optimize Iceberg-based data lake architectures and MinIO storage platforms.
• Define best practices for data engineering, data quality, governance, observability and platform operations.
• Contribute to platform automation, DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, BI teams, Solution Architects and business stakeholders.

Required profile

• Hands-on production experience with several of the required technologies.
• Experience with cloud-native and on-premise big data environments and designing enterprise-scale data platforms.
• Experience designing modern Data Lakehouse solutions and making technology decisions for enterprise environments is a strong advantage.

Required skills

• Must have: Apache Spark, Apache Iceberg, Trino, Kubernetes, MinIO.
• Strongly preferred: Apache Kafka, Apache Airflow, Apache Hive, Hadoop ecosystem, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, data lakehouse architecture, data governance and metadata management.
• Nice to have: Apache Ranger, OpenMetadata, Apache Flink, Delta Lake, Databricks, Terraform, Cloudera/Hortonworks platforms, AWS/Azure/GCP.
