Senior DevOps Engineer – Amazon EKS Specialist

About the role

N-iX is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Amazon EKS to support a leading Azerbaijani telecommunications client. You will help build a secure hybrid cloud foundation on AWS, accelerate Data & AI initiatives, and modernize the IT estate.

Key responsibilities

• Design, provision, and maintain production‑grade Amazon EKS clusters across AWS and on‑premises using EKS Hybrid Nodes and Cilium VXLAN CNI.
• Implement dynamic node autoscaling with Karpenter and manage immutable Bottlerocket images.
• Configure EMR‑on‑EKS runtimes for distributed Big Data and PySpark workloads.
• Provision and optimize GPU node pools (NVIDIA A100/L40S) for LLM training and low‑latency speech inference pipelines.
• Automate GitOps CI/CD workflows with Argo CD, Helm, and GitLab pipelines.
• Enforce cluster security and compliance using OPA/Kyverno, IRSA/Pod Identities, and RBAC.
• Develop IaC templates with Terraform or AWS CDK and integrate them into CI/CD.
• Implement micro‑segmentation, network policies, and split‑horizon DNS across hybrid VPCs.
• Integrate logging, metrics, and tracing with CloudWatch and on‑prem Splunk/SIEM.
• Author technical documentation, runbooks, DR procedures, and upgrade playbooks.

Required profile

• 4+ years of hands‑on Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE experience focused on enterprise Kubernetes/EKS.
• Strong expertise in EKS Hybrid Nodes, Cilium CNI, and hybrid networking topologies.
• Proven experience with Karpenter autoscaling, Bottlerocket OS, and EMR‑on‑EKS.
• Hands‑on GPU orchestration for AI/ML workloads and real‑time voicebot inference.
• Proficiency in GitOps practices using Argo CD, Helm, and GitLab CI.
• Solid knowledge of Kubernetes security, OPA/Kyverno, RBAC, and secrets management (Vault/CyberArk).
• Experience with IaC (Terraform or AWS CDK) and CI/CD integration.
• Upper‑Intermediate English communication skills.
