Senior Geospatial Data Scientist

About the role

Join Doktar’s Data Science team to lead basin‑scale water stress assessments and climate‑risk analytics using satellite and climate datasets. You will turn complex earth observation data into actionable insights for sustainable agriculture and water management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain remote sensing workflows for water, climate, and agricultural analytics using datasets such as Sentinel, Landsat, MODIS, GRACE, ERA5, and CHIRPS.
• Support basin‑scale analyses including evapotranspiration, water balance, drought, groundwater, and crop‑water‑stress assessments.
• Process raster and vector geospatial data with Python and geospatial tools, building reproducible pipelines and automating workflows.
• Collaborate across AI/ML, geospatial, and sustainability initiatives to translate environmental signals into practical field insights.
• Prepare visualisations, technical reports, and methodology notes for stakeholders.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of experience in geospatial data science, remote sensing, Earth observation analytics, or GeoAI, preferably in agriculture, water, or climate domains.
• Strong analytical thinking, scientific curiosity, and ownership mindset for solving real‑world environmental problems.
• Ability to communicate technical findings clearly through visualisations and reports.

Required skills

• Python programming with scientific and geospatial libraries (GeoPandas, Rasterio, Xarray/Rioxarray, GDAL).
• Experience with Google Earth Engine and QGIS.
• Solid understanding of raster/vector processing, spatial analysis, map algebra, and reproducible pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, Docker, and PostGIS is a plus.

What we offer

• Highly responsible role in a young, interdisciplinary team.
• State‑of‑the‑art technical facilities and communication tools.
• Professional development opportunities.
• Performance‑bonus system and company share options.
