Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Ekin Smart City Technologies is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the creation of innovative electronic enclosures for smart‑city applications. You will work across cross‑functional teams to deliver robust, manufacturable products while ensuring compliance with thermal and mechanical requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform 3D mechanical design and generate 2D drawings following DFM/DFA principles.
• Create and manage product BOMs and coordinate ERP integration.
• Lead design activities throughout the product development lifecycle and track project timelines.
• Conduct design reviews, ensure compliance with technical specifications, and support thermal analysis and validation.
• Provide technical leadership in new product development, coordinate with suppliers, and drive design simplification initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, including plastic injection molding and sheet‑metal forming.
• Strong knowledge of thermal design for electronic enclosures and experience with CFD/thermal simulation tools.
• Good understanding of GD&T, metrology inspection methods, and RPS points.
• Advanced English, strong communication, and willingness to travel when required.
