Senior RF Antenna Designer / Application Engineer

About the role

Analog Devices is seeking an Application Engineer focused on antenna design to support customers and internal teams with the design, simulation, validation and integration of antennas in advanced RF systems. The role bridges theory, practical antenna implementation and customer engagement, covering communications, radar, aerospace, defense and emerging wireless applications. It is an experienced position with about 10% travel and a day shift.

Key responsibilities

• Design, simulate and optimise antennas (PCB, embedded, patch, dipole, array, phased array) across a wide range of frequencies and applications
• Support customers with antenna selection, placement, matching, tuning and integration, and guide trade-offs such as bandwidth, efficiency, gain, polarisation and isolation
• Help customers diagnose issues such as mismatch, coupling, detuning and EMC/EMI interactions
• Use EM and RF simulation tools to model structures and environments, and measure S-parameters, radiation patterns, efficiency and gain with VNAs, anechoic chambers and OTA setups
• Correlate simulation with measurements, support link budgets, MIMO performance and phased-array calibration
• Act as technical point of contact for customers, support evaluations and prototypes, deliver presentations, application notes and reference designs, and collaborate with sales and field teams
• Work with IC designers, system architects and product teams early in product development, and share knowledge internally

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Electromagnetics or a related field
• Strong fundamentals in antenna theory, electromagnetics and RF/microwave design
• Hands-on experience with antenna measurements and RF test equipment
• Ability to explain technical concepts to experts and non-experts
• Preferred: Master's or PhD, experience with phased arrays, beamforming, MIMO or mmWave antennas, and familiarity with wireless standards (5G/6G, radar, satellite, aerospace & defense, IoT)

Required skills

• Familiarity with antenna matching networks and RF front-end integration
• Preferred: EM/RF simulation tools such as HFSS, CST, FEKO or ADS
• Experience with VNAs, spectrum analyzers and signal generators
