Technical Specialist - Yacht Engineering

About the role

Damen Shipyards Antalya is looking for a Technical Specialist to join its Engineering team. The specialist prepares technical specifications, coordinates suppliers and subcontractors and ensures that technical equipment and systems are integrated successfully into yacht newbuilding projects. The role works closely with Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Commissioning and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain technical specifications, engineering documentation and technical inputs for RFQ and procurement processes.
• Evaluate supplier quotations, technical proposals, equipment specifications and compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate technical suppliers and subcontractors for onboard mechanical and technical systems, excluding Interior and Electrical & Automation.
• Manage supplier engineering documentation, vendor data, technical submissions and delivery schedules.
• Ensure the technical integration of equipment and systems into yacht designs, coordinating interfaces between suppliers and engineering disciplines.
• Monitor technical deliverables, identify risks and follow up on engineering schedules and outstanding technical issues.
• Provide technical support to Purchasing, Production and Commissioning teams, and coordinate technical clarifications, engineering changes and problem solving.
• Support inspection and classification processes, technical approvals and HAT/SAT preparations when required.
• Participate in project meetings, monitor engineering progress and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant technical or engineering experience.
• Experience in yacht-building or shipbuilding is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Strong written and spoken English; willingness to travel internationally and to reside in Antalya or relocate.

Required skills

• Technical understanding of mechanical systems, equipment integration and engineering processes.
• Knowledge of technical risk management and engineering interface coordination.
• Proficiency in Rhino and AutoCAD is an advantage.
• Excellent coordination, problem-solving, planning and reporting abilities.
